Lynne completed four swims in the Arctic paying tribute to the great polar explorer Roald Amundsen, who was the first to traverse the Northwest Passage by boat in 1903 – 1906. Highlighting her concerns for the environment: Lynne was invited by the Sierra Club and Rivers Unlimited to advocate for maintaining high standards for water quality. Joined by many local athletes, her swim from Cincinnati, Ohio to Newport, Kentucky was successful – the community’s water standards were maintained.
In one of her most noted accomplishments, Lynne was the first person to swim in Antarctica waters, completing a distance of 1.2 miles. She swam from the ship Orlova to Neko Harbor in 25 minutes. Get The Book
